Kelvin Lighting

Established in Nov 2018, Kelvin Lighting PTY LTD was founded on the guiding principle of Australian-made and backed products. Exploring the relationship between functional and decorative lighting has led to a unique contemporary aesthetic of materials, structure, and geometry.

Extending and supporting our local communities, we have collaborated with a wide range of unique companies and artisans including coppersmiths, glass blowers, and aerospace engineers. This not only ensures that designs are of the highest calibre, but the materials which go into our products are a commitment to our quality.

James Colwell

James started his lighting career in 2012 joining the Illuminating Engineering Society Victoria / Tasmania (IES) where he is currently the President of Vic/Tas chapter. Soon after joining the IES he went on to work at a local lighting manufacturer, while working here James became head of research and development and won multiple lighting design awards for the company.

James has worked in various top lighting manufacturers in both Victoria and New South Wales, holding positions that cover all aspects of design, manufacturing, and project management. His new venture Kelvin Lighting and Candela Made represents James at his best, Australian designed and made products, the innovation of new ideas, material integration, and problem-solving. This approach to lighting and design are the core beliefs that drive our company.
